Corral del Pato - One of our faviorites outside of Gata on Lliber-Jalon road. Very good catalan cuisine with

polular menu; amazing wood fired lamb, oxen and duck! Eat in or outside under huge carob trees.

Casa Pepa - Fantastic food in a nice setting. This restaurant is located in the orange groves near Ondara.

La Boheme (& Los Remos) - Are the two better restaurants at Javea's arenal. French owned/fine tapas.

El Clavo - In Port, Classic Spanish fishermans bar we've frequented for 30 years.

Fresh seafood and good values. Menu on wall only! Overlooking sea near fishing docks.

Drassanes - Near Denia is one of the best fish restaurants. Excellent "memu Gastronomique" .

Piripi - Excellent/imaginative copious "Tapas": on new pedestrian Javea port sea-front. Book or

but worth the wait. Probably the most frequented by us for food and scenery. Xcept Sun-pm & Mon

Azorin - Javea Port (in street behind Napoli Pizza and Piripi) Super Fish & Chips (&chicken), great for

Masena - Swiss owned with very good foods and wines, On road between Javea roundabout and

Golf course, across the street from Giardino. Try the salt encrusted sea bass. Tel 96 579 3764

Calpe Harbor - Can be the best place for fish: any restaurant will entice you in with marvellous

displays of fresh fish. There is nothing like this anywhere else nearby. Strongly recommended.

Montevideo - A favorite for meat. Just out of Benitachell on way to Cumbre Del Sol. Tel 96 649 3283

Pepe Y Estrella - On sea front near the port. Classic spanish with a great view of the bay.

Paradores - Most of Spain's paradors are worth the stop and their restaruants are known for regional specialities.

We almost always have their breakfast buffet which is a great way to start the day and fairly priced.

Segovia - Meson de Candido - Dine next to a roman aquaduct. This is a classic restaurant known for

roast lanb and suckling pig, so tender you can cut it with a dinner plate, and they do! Restaurant on

upper floors in this great building. Address: Plaza de azoguejo 5

Cuenca - Meson Casa Colgadas - This is a classic hanging house that Cuenca is known for, often seen

in pictures. Dine high above the gorge and try some regional cuisine. Good food, views and a lasting

experience. Address: just across the bridge, first place on the left! Calle Canonigos.

Chinchon - Meson Cuevas del Vino - may be our favorite restaurant. Incredible character. Bar with

wood fired oven and walls lined with huge earthen wine jugs. You sit in a former anise distillery and

winery with the press dominating the room. Hams curing by the fireplace ceiling. Wine in full size pig

wineskins, served in simple a caraffe. Lamb being butchered in the kitchen. A variety of dishes to choose

from. This is a great town and this Castilian restaurant is worth finding. Address: Benito Hortelano 13

Barcelona - Can Culleretes - just the greatest place. The oldest restarurant in Barcelona located in the

old town just off Las Ramblas. We love their pica pica de pescado where they bring you wave after

wave of seafood. Delicious. Usually busy with lots of Barcelonians. Address: Carrer Quintana 5

Alicante - Darsena - talk about rice dishes. This is a bustling restaurant right on the harbor.

Pick from 50 different rice dishes served at your table in paella pans. Address: Paseo del Puerto

Alicante - Piripi - Nice Spanish restaurant and tapa bar located near El Corte de Ingles. Classic.
